NGB MENTORING
Never Going Back (NGB) is a leading coaching program that instills positive thought patterns that will form genuine change. We encourage our clients on their journey of self-improvement, and we use mentoring techniques from Never Going Back's mentors; some whom have successfully navigated similar obstacles themselves.
COGNITIVE RESTRUCTURING
At Second Chance Center, we know that change is critical to eliminate recidivism. Incarcerated individuals often become accustomed to negative thoughts, feelings and behavior that perpetuate negative outcomes. We teach clients how assess their thoughts control their feelings ultimately change their behavior ensuring long-term permanent change.
PLAN DEVELOPMENT
We provide individual and group mentoring support to help our clients develop the philosophical groundwork for their future success. Mentors work with participants both pre-release in prison or community corrections, as well as post-release when they return to their homes across Colorado. Our mentors create a tailored reentry plan that addresses each participant’s risks and needs.
EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
Employment is the key to reducing recidivism. It's also important for building a fulfilling life and making positive changes in your future. Sometimes, legislative or social barriers can make it hard to find work after incarceration so we offer employment services that will help you prepare and succeed once you've found a job!
HOUSING & TRANSPORTATION
We offer a variety of housing and transportation solutions for our clients including emergency, permanent supportive, and RTD transportation assistance. We also have an incredible partnership with Second Chance Bikes that gives access to bicycles in exchange for community service.
FORMER OFFENDERS REINTEGRATED FOR COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT
Our community service program tasks transitioning clients to change the landscape of their post-release society by empowering them with tools for active citizenship within both political and social processes like testifying before legislators about bills impacting low-income citizens or attending public forums where local ordinances are being discussed.
