Groundbreaking Celebration for PATH

Updated: Jul 26, 2021

Construction on Providence at the Heights (PATH), a permanent supportiive housing project in Aurora, has begun! On January 4th, almost 200 people from our community

gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate this hard-earned milestone!

One of the things that Second Chance Center works to combat is the stigma that ex-

offenders are future offenders. A key component to reducing recidivism rates is a

stable living situation and our wrap-around support approach to helping people

rebuild and lead successful lives works – over and over again! The journey to get

here wasn’t easy. When our vision of giving more people the opportunity to live in a

safe, secure home was threatened last year, our community came out in full force to

support our mission and now the vision for PATH is on its way to truly becoming a

reality. The way that so many partners came together to create this project is a true

testament of how powerful it is when talents combine for one common goal.

When complete, PATH will provide 50 permanent supportive housing units to our

community. In addition to housing, residents will have access to services on site.

These services may include the help of a care manager or counselor, help in building

independent living skills, assistance with integrating into the community, and

connections to community based health care, treatment, and employment services.

You can follow the progress of this important project at

www.providenceattheheights.com. The targeted completion date is January 2020.
