Reconnecting with family and loved ones can either enhance or undermine the transition process for returning individuals. Re-establishing relationships (where possible) can be challenging, frustrating and often require experienced guidance to navigate. This is especially true with children and parents who have been absent. SCC supports the development of healthy relationships that take into account all the aspects, rights and needs of those involved. Likewise, the start of “new” relationships, with significant others, also can be strengthened by education and counseling.
